| THE RULES OF TEA MAKING
1. Always use fresh water to boil. Water which is off-the- boil or re-boiled will produce tea which is flat and dull.
2. Warm the pot with a little hot water to improve the
performance of the tea.
3. Put the correct quantity of tea in the pot for your taste.
4. Immediately the water boils, pour it over the tea.
5. Infuse for the required amount of time.
6. If using milk, add it first as this protects your bone
china and combines better with the tea.
7. Pour and enjoy.
STORAGE
As tea is a plant it can be contaminated if it is not stored correctly. Ideally tea should be sotred in a caddy to keep it dry and away from light. If a caddy is not available, we recommend you keep it in its pack in a dry cupboard away from other products and strong smells.
If you suspect that your tea is tainted, lay it out on some kitchen paper and leave in the air for about 24 hours. This will take away the tainting.
Always store scented and flavoured tea away from regular tea: for example store Earl Grey on its own and not near your other teas. |
